Refurbishment & upgrades
Explore repair and upgrade options before committing to a complete replacement.
Keep what is serviceable. Renew what matters.
Refurbishment starts with understanding what remains fit for use and what needs attention. Replacing worn internal or mechanical components may be appropriate where the surrounding structure is serviceable; more extensive deterioration may point towards a wider rebuild.
ENG-TECH brings structural, mechanical and internal component work into one practical scope. We can also consider changed operating requirements, rather than assuming that a like-for-like replacement is the right answer.

Scope of work
Support where it is needed.
01
Structure & access
Timber, FRP and steel components, cladding, fan stacks, decking and mechanical access arrangements.
02
Mechanical refurbishment
Assess fan blades, motors, gearboxes, driveshafts and support steelwork for repair or replacement.
03
Internal upgrades
Fill media, drift eliminators, air inlet louvres and distribution equipment selected for the application.
Repair, upgrade or replace?
The decision depends on condition, required duty, access and the extent of the proposed work. Existing supports and interfaces need to be considered alongside new components. Where performance assessment is required, an agreed before-and-after assessment can help frame the work. We do not assume a refurbishment will deliver a particular capacity increase without reviewing the equipment and operating conditions.

Planning your project
Questions worth asking.
A clearer brief helps us identify a practical next step.
Can a refurbishment improve tower performance?
Changes to fill, fans or water distribution may offer an upgrade route. The appropriate scope depends on the existing tower and required duty; a performance improvement must be assessed for the specific installation.
Can fan blades or stacks be repaired in place?
The technical sheets describe work carried out within a fan cell. Whether this is suitable for your tower depends on condition, access and the repair method.
Do you replace the complete tower if necessary?
New installation and replacement planning are part of our service range. We can discuss this alongside refurbishment when defining your project.
